Yes, you can see a chiropractor in Sandy, Utah the same day you reach out. At Willow Creek Chiropractic, same-day appointments are possible when you call (801) 942-4999 to book. That day you get a real evaluation: one of our doctors listens, takes your health history, examines you and takes x-rays in house if they are needed.

How Do You Get a Same Day Visit With a Chiropractor in Sandy, Utah?

Call us. Every appointment, same-day ones included, is booked by phone at (801) 942-4999. We are an appointment-only office, and that call is what makes a same-day visit work. It lets us find you an open time with one of our doctors, so you get a full consultation instead of a rushed one.

Our hours decide what "today" can mean:

  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 8am to 11am and 3pm to 6pm, with special consults from 11am to 3pm

  • Tuesday: 3pm to 6pm, with special consults before 3pm

  • Thursday, Saturday and Sunday: closed

That means a same-day visit can happen on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday. If your neck locks up on a Thursday or over the weekend, call when we reopen and ask for the first available time. Call earlier in the day and there is more of the schedule to work with.

You will find us at 8170 South Highland Drive, Suite E-4, in Sandy. We see patients from Sandy and across the south Salt Lake Valley: families, active adults, kids, expecting mothers and people hurt in car accidents.

Once you are booked, the visit has already started. We call this Step 1, Preparing For Your Visit. You receive electronic new patient intake forms to complete, and you email your insurance information and a copy of your photo ID to info@willowcreekchiro.com. On a same-day timeline, do this right after you hang up. Then your time in the office goes to the consultation, not to paperwork.

Is a Same-Day Chiropractic Visit Right for You, or Do You Need the ER?

A same-day chiropractic visit fits the kind of problem that hurts and gets in the way of your day. Maybe your back tightened up while you were lifting, your neck will not turn, a headache keeps coming back, or you are sore after a fender bender. Those are good reasons to be evaluated, and a same-day exam gets you answers sooner than waiting it out.

Some symptoms need emergency care first. Call 911 or go to an emergency room if you have chest pain, trouble breathing, a head injury with confusion or loss of consciousness, sudden weakness or numbness, or loss of bladder or bowel control. The same goes after a crash with serious injuries. If you are not sure which side of that line you are on, go to emergency care first. We are here once you have been checked.

What Does "Get Evaluated Today" Mean if You Want an Adjustment?

It means your first visit is for the evaluation: listening, health history, an exam and x-rays if needed. Your care plan comes later, at the Report of Findings. An adjustment on that first visit is not guaranteed and is not something to expect. Whether one happens depends on what the doctor finds in the exam.

We say this up front because it matters when you are hurting and want relief now. Waiting can feel like a delay. It is not. The first visit is deliberate. The goal is to understand where the problem is and what is driving it before anyone treats it, so the care that follows is aimed at the right thing.

That approach comes from how we see the body. We believe your body was intelligently designed to heal and function on its own. Daily stressors and major traumas can lead to misalignments of the spine, called subluxations. These put stress and irritation on the nervous system and can show up as aches, pain and dysfunction. Finding where that interference sits takes a careful look, and a careful look takes the steps below.

What Happens at Your First Visit, Step by Step?

After Step 1, the visit follows the same order we use with every new patient.

Step 2, Consultation and Exam. When you arrive, our receptionist welcomes you. After you check in and we verify your information, you meet with one of our doctors for an in-depth consultation. This is your time to explain what happened, when it started, what makes it better or worse, and what you want to get back to doing. The doctor takes a thorough health history and performs an evaluation.

Step 3, X-Rays. If the doctor decides they are necessary, x-rays are recommended and taken the same day, right here in our office.

Step 4, Report of Findings and Recommendations. After your x-rays are reviewed, you return for your Report of Findings appointment. The doctor discusses the results of your x-rays and explains how our chiropractic care can benefit you.

Why Are X-Rays Taken In House, the Same Day?

The reason for an x-ray is diagnosis, and a diagnosis is more useful today than next week. We do not refer x-rays out. That means no second trip, no separate appointment to schedule and no waiting on another facility to send images back.

X-rays are a clinical decision. The doctor recommends them when your history and exam point to a need, not as a box every patient checks. They help diagnose what is going on so your care plan fits it. They are not taken to rule out a condition we cannot treat.

Why Is Your Care Plan Presented at the Report of Findings?

Before your Report of Findings, the doctor reviews your x-rays together with your exam findings and builds a plan around you. That takes time, and it is time well spent. Two people with the same sore lower back can have very different stories underneath. Your plan should reflect yours.

Depending on what the doctor recommends, a care plan can draw on:

  • Chiropractic adjustments using Diversified, drop table or Activator techniques. Diversified is a hands-on manual approach. Drop table work uses a table section that drops slightly to assist the adjustment. Activator uses a small handheld instrument for a gentle, targeted adjustment.

  • Massage therapy, acupuncture and cold laser therapy.

  • ESTIM (electrical stimulation) and rehabilitation exercises.

  • Custom orthotics.

Hands-on care for common problems has real research behind it. The UK evidence report on manual therapies, a broad review of the research, found evidence supporting spinal manipulation for adults with low back pain, as well as for some types of headache and several other musculoskeletal conditions. Research describes what tends to help groups of people. It cannot promise a result for any one person, which is exactly why your plan is built on your own exam.

Hurt in a Car Accident? Here Is What a Same-Day Evaluation Includes

A car accident changes the evaluation a little. For auto injuries, x-rays, including motion views, are a standard part of the evaluation. Motion views are images taken while you bend your neck or back in certain directions. They let the doctor see how your spine moves, not only how it sits when you are still. Like every x-ray we take, they are there to help diagnose the injury.

Pain after a collision does not always show up right away. Stiffness that seems minor the first evening can feel different later. Getting evaluated means you know what you are dealing with instead of guessing.

On the billing side, we bill insurance for Personal Injury Protection, usually called PIP. Most people do not know what PIP is, or that their Utah auto policy includes it, so ask about it when you call. We also work on a lien with attorneys. Both are billing arrangements. Neither one changes how the doctor evaluates you or what your care plan includes.

How Does Insurance Work if You Book Today?

We accept all insurances, though coverage varies from plan to plan. Our insurance department will help you understand what your plan covers. Self-pay plans are always available if your coverage does not fit or you would rather pay directly.

One straightforward note: even after we verify coverage with the insurer directly ahead of an appointment, we still see an occasional surprise. We would rather you hear that now than later.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can massage or acupuncture be my main care?

Yes. Massage therapy, acupuncture and cold laser therapy can each be part of a care plan on their own or alongside adjustments, as the doctor recommends. They are not only add-ons to chiropractic care. Your provider for each service customizes the session to your needs and comfort level. Call (801) 942-4999, tell us what you are looking for, and we will help you find the right first step.

Do you see pregnant patients and children?

Yes. Prenatal and pediatric care are part of what we offer, and we see families, kids and expecting mothers. We are trained in and use the Webster Technique, a chiropractic approach commonly used in pregnancy that focuses on pelvic balance. Like every new patient, you start with a consultation and exam, and your care plan comes at the Report of Findings.

Are custom orthotics covered by insurance?

No, custom orthotics are not billed to insurance. We use Foot Levelers orthotics, and the recommendation comes from a Foot Levelers foot scan taken while you stand. It is a standing-only scan, so no gait analysis or walking scan is involved. We see your feet as the foundation of your body's alignment and movement, and the scan is used to evaluate which orthotics are recommended for you.

Will I need an MRI?

Only if your symptoms or exam findings call for it. In that case, MRI or other advanced imaging may be recommended, with a referral. That is separate from x-rays, which we take in house when the doctor decides they are needed. Advanced imaging is recommended when the added detail would help pin down a diagnosis, and the referral makes sure you get to the right place for it.
